I've got a brand new combine harvester
A maize maze might not sound that exciting, but add a map and running at flat out speeds and you've got a brilliant idea for a saturday afternoon (and night!).
The 'O Maize Maze' consitsted of 2 prologue qualifying events which were so short in straight line distance (only 700 and 900m respectively) by took the winners over 15minutes to complete as the distance covered underfoot was vast, with twists and turns at every control.
After the qualifiers I was sitting in 8th and 7th, starting 7 from the back with only the leaders behind me. The night time was much faster than the qualifiers... thanks mostly to the lack of rain, unlike earlier which turned the compacted soil into an ice rink - with Shane smashing his nose into someone's forehead! - still I managed to run fast between legs, catch Rhys Findlay Robinson and finish in a respectible 2nd overall.
I missed out on a trophy which was a can of sweetcorn... a-maizing!
