Lady Cannings and Beyond...
3rd January 2009.

I took my first running steps of 2009 in the Burbage Valley today, after a bouldering session on New Year's Day and a circuit session yesterday (it hurts!). It's conveniently situated on the west of Sheffield and only a 10min drive away making it perfect for a quick run.
As I've not been doing much in the latter part of 2008, I decided to take the 'bull by the horns' and go for a terrain run to get my legs back into the running associated with orienteering.
Starting at Lady Cannings Plantation I made the move over the Roman Road, into the valley, up the other side and back across the heather covered moor towards the plantation in a straight line. Probably around 50% Track / 50% Terrain.
The heather was quite low really and was lovely to get out in the valley, only spying 5 or so people along the route.
A great start for 2009!
