Swedish Club Relay Champs

Unfortunately I'm not doing the Swedish Club Relay Champs with Västerås SOK this year as I'm concentrating on getting fitter ready for 2010 and warming up for the Original Mountain Marathon (this year in Wales) but I have just seen the unsuprisingly it's Halden SK who won the event again!

They have some amazing athletes of all ages, and the 25 manna isn't just about the elite runners, it's about the young and the old and how well they can navigate and run as a team.

In 2005 I ran against Olav Lundanes when he won his JWOC medal in Switzerland.  He was rapid, I mean astoundingly quick compared to everyone in the mountains, and again today he has shown exactly what he can do with another leading run on the 24th leg.

Västerås SOK looked to be doing incredibly well again as after the 6th leg they were in 16th place, 7 places ahead of last year's result.  Unfortunately there was a mispunch on the 7th leg!  The team continued to run, and would have finished in 30th, but were disqualified along with Delta 1 (who were one of the tipped teams to win!).

Anyway, another great race filled with excitment, but Halden SK winning once again to claim their trophy as the world's best orienteering club.
