SYO dictate the pace at the Harvester Relay

South Yorkshire Orienteers have once again proved their might in this year's orienteering calendar by winning the British version of the 10Mila; the 'Harvester Relays'.
After Neil Northrop was beaten in on 1st leg by Dan Hartmann from ShUOC (Sheffield University) and Clive Hallett from BOK (Bristol Orienteering Klubb), the SYO victory was looking a little bit preemptive...
...but with great performances from the rest of the team they managed to clinch victory by over 30 minutes from Thames Valley Orienteers, who finished in 2nd.
Matt Crane rounded off a perfect weekend, after winning the JOK Chasing Sprint from teammate Neil Northrop the day before, by storming into the finish on last leg in 68.33 for the 9km course bringing SYO in the gold medal position.
The Harvester 'B' Relay was also dominated by a University Club; but this time not Sheffield nor Edinburgh, but that of Oxford University.
Top performances from Helen Gardener and Alison Crocker brought the team into 1st. They then kept this place right up to the final leg, winning by over 6 minutes from Octavian Droobers.
