Walkley Street O

Training in Sheffield is great. With 2 of the top clubs in Britain in one place, means regular orienteering training and great times.

This week saw another night event, this time on the streets of Walkley, Sheffield. The course was 6.1km, planned by Mike Sprot in a Cambridge Sprint-O style, and took into the parks and pavements of the 'city of steel'. The orienteering was fast and the hills very steep, and Matt Crane got back 1st in a time of around 32minutes, closely followed by Neil Northrop.

I managed to do the first half ok but didn't carry a headtourch so couldn't really read the map 100% so decided to jog around the last few controls.

A technical and fast paced event.
